This composition is based upon research and writing I undertook as British Council and PRS for Music Foundation Musician in Residence in Yunnan Province, China between November and December 2015. ‘Eternal Spring’ was completed and performed in Kunming, May 2017 with help from British Council’s ‘Connections Through Culture’.

With thanks to the British Council, PRSf, my Chinese hosts Modern Sky Entertainment and Elephant Arts, and especially Elephant Arts who facilitated the final creation and performance of this piece. Special thanks to my travelling companion Fang Yan, my original trip helpers Ranny and Penny, and my five flowers Lucy, Dai Xiao, Chen YiMeng, Kate and Sandrine for bring this creation to life with me.

‘Eternal Spring’ is named after Kunming, city of eternal spring, capital of Yunnan Province.
